Jahrsetz, IngoSomebody important wrote that walking the spiritual path means aligning one’s life to Oneness. What does this actually imply?

A mystical process? What is a mystical process? An experience in altered states of consciousness? Certain wisdom of life itself?

Lovers certainly will know what Oneness means. But how does their knowing feel for others? When they feel jealous, or cast away?

I think that today Oneness is one of the most frequent used terms within the transpersonal movement. And it is the term that has an extremely wide range of different worldviews and perspectives.
The understanding of Oneness may reflect human beings’ deepest longings and also the difficulty to accept differences and personal fears. Then on an emotional level sado-masochism as relational pattern may appear – the shadow of Oneness. Then we may observe the consciousness-experience of Oneness and sado-masochistic relational patterns: “Oneness in two”.

This cannot mean Oneness – because there are always two – the object and the witness. Or the experience and the experiencer.

The problem of Oneness seems to be the difficulty to overcome the dualistic split and at the same time be part of this. Most people deeply are longing for an inclusion of everybody, every soul and everything, of an inclusion of wholeness. And at the same time we are used to separate by decision making, judgmental excluding, by fighting against what we don’t know, warfare against what we call the evil. Maybe one of the difficulties to realize Oneness is the cowardice to understand anxiety and face the evil on this planet. Who is able honestly to say: I am a charming human being and I am a terrorist; my behavior sometimes is caring and loving, other times it was Nazi-like.

Peoples’ longing for Oneness may be beyond the brain, beyond of an usual understanding.
But maybe lovers know what Oneness is – “two in the One”.
